Putting a Bumper Sticker on a Ferrari

Putting a bumper sticker on a Ferrari would show the world that you have just bought a handbuilt piece of machinery artwork with a hefty price tag, and you have no idea what to do with it.

Not because of the bumper sticker.

It's because you can easily get the same (or better) driving experience for half the price of other cars.

A Nissan GTR can show it's taillights to most Ferraris. Same with a Lotus Elise SC. And the Nissan will be especially reliable. The Honda Acura NSX does plenty of the same, too. Or the Audi TT RS.

Audi has hammered all competition in several years at Le Mans, formerly a race Ferrari dominated. Mercedes has been on the Formula 1 throne for a decade now.

Depending on what Ferrari you compare with, there’s always something cheaper, faster, sharper, and more reliable out there.

The real difference to the Ferrari is always the style. The name. The x-factor.

On the other hand, smacking a bumper sticker on a Ferarri might be a way of showing your wealth in a more extreme way. You don't even care about what some sticker residue might do to the resale value of a half a million dollar machine.

Other reasons you might want to challenge the status quo:

  1. Democratizing Luxury: Applying a bumper sticker to a Ferrari can be seen as a way of democratizing luxury, breaking down the barriers of exclusivity and unattainability that often surround luxury brands.

  2. Modern Rebellion: In a world where luxury often equates to conformity, choosing to personalize a Ferrari with a bumper sticker is a form of modern rebellion, a way to stand out in a sea of polished, untouched luxury vehicles.

In any case, if there's ever a bumper sticker that is worthy of a Ferrari, it might just be ours.

What do you think? Would you do it?
