Number One Edition
The special number 1 copy of the Saatchi Opus will be auctioned at an evening reception on the 26th November 2009. Opus, is to be auctioned for charity.
Charity Auction
The Saatchi Opus Number One Edition will be auctioned at the Saatchi Gallery, London, during the launch evening on 26th November 2009. The auction will be conducted by Phillips de Pury for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Actor, art collector and Opus contributor Steve Martin has already signed the Number One Edition. During the launch evening Opus Media will request all artists and contributors, featured in the Opus, to sign this special edition in the hope of raising as much as possible for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The money raised from the auction will go towards helping the hospital raise money for a heart and lung bypass machine. These state-of-the-art machines are essential during all open-heart surgery operations on babies and children when they temporarily become the heart and lungs of the child.
The machine will be used on 38 to 42 children per month for operations including heart and lung transplants, hole-in-the-heart surgery, re-plumbing arteries that are round the wrong way and congenital heart defects.
